Our offroad driving fundamentals course includes classroom training led by an instructor followed by a practical component that includes one-on-one offroad driver training in the vehicle. We believe that combining classroom instruction with practical hands on learning gives our students the best learning experience.
It is critical to point out that ANY TRAINING that does not include classroom and practical components may present serious liability concerns in the event of an incident. Our defensive driver training program meets and exceeds requirements and provides instruction in the following areas:
- 4x4 Fundamentals
- Hazard Assessments
- How to handle a skid
- Climbing and descending hills
- Crossing water
- How not to get stuck
- Avoiding roll-overs
- Loose gravel and washboard
- Crossing obstacles
- Private and radio controlled roads
OH&S regulations require all workers operating corporate/company vehicles offroad to take offroad driver training.
Under OH&S regulations in order for a certificate to be issued the following course requirements must be met:
- A minimum of 4 hrs classroom training
- There must be a practical component
- Written exam
